Dove Review

Entertaining! Creative! Imaginative! “Popovich and the Voice of the Fabled American West” is a first-rate experience. It stars Gregory Popovich, a real entertainer who rescued animals from shelters and turned them into entertainers as part of his act. In the film he plays a street performer who struggles to survive in a trailer in a junkyard, while caring for several dogs and cats. When someone turns him in for having too many animals, he works with a nice city official to try to legally keep the animals. He enters an entertainment show in which the winner is to receive $10,000, and he plans to use the winnings to pay the legal fees to keep his animals.

However, despite putting on a great show, another act unbelievably wins. Facing letting his beloved animals go, the animals help save a man’s life after he absentmindedly starts a fire at his theater. Grateful for his life being spared, he offers to help Popovich any way he can. Let’s just say Popovich is able to give the show of a lifetime and to include friends (and even enemies) he made along the way. The film’s themes include doing what one loves and forgiveness, and is very thrilling. Popovich’s dogs and cats perform amazing tricks including skipping rope and a dog standing on two paws on Popovich’s hand. We are happy to award this movie our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages twelve plus. This is one entertaining movie! It has earned five Doves, our best rating.
