This is the story of peacemaker Dan Terry, who spent 40 years devoted to the people of Afghanistan until he was tragically assassinated in 2010.
“Weaving Life: The Life & Death of Peacemaker Dan Terry,” tells the courageous story of Dan Terry, a man of adventure and compassion. He chose to live out his love for others, rather than just give lip service. In so doing, he transformed the lives and well-being of many Afghani citizens. Along with his wife and daughters, Terry spent 30 years traveling the back roads of Afghanistan, learning about its people, culture, and needs. His personal mission was to meet their needs however he and his family could. He organized the delivery of truckloads of wheat during a time of famine, built a school for village children, and invested his heart in friendships to create peace. Rarely does a person live a life poured out for others, but this was the path Terry chose. Eventually, this path led to his death. His wife, daughter, friends, and others who have been inspired by his legacy give their personal accounts of the impact Terry made on them, as well as Afghanistan. His love for this often-misunderstood country testifies to its richness, while challenging the misconceptions of westerners. He felt all people, even Afghanis, were somehow interconnected, and he spent his life following the vibrant threads. To further Terry’s fearless and selfless influence, The Dove Foundation awards “Weaving Life: The Life & Death of Peacemaker Dan Terry” the “Family Approved” seal for ages 12 and older.
