Ties that Bind

“Ties that Bind” revolves around Allison McLean (Kelli Williams), a tough and experienced police detective, mother and wife in suburban Seattle. When she and her police partner (Dion Johnstone) must arrest her brother (Luke Perry) for aggravated assault, her world drastically changes as he’s convicted and sent to prison, leaving his two teenagers teetering on the brink of foster care. Ultimately, she takes them into her home and ends up raising four teenagers while solving local crimes at her demanding job.

Dove Review

This review is for the first episode of the series only. Allison is a police detective and, as everyone knows, her job isn’t easy. She has a family of her own and a wonderful husband who stands by her side. But when she decides to take in her brother’s teenagers, will the challenge be too much for her?

In this first episode, her brother goes to prison, and Allison decides to take the kids home with her and her family. The children and their aunt’s family have some angry feelings among each other, partly because of the distance between Allison and her brother. Now Allison only wants what is best for the kids. In the meantime, she still has the responsibility to her job.

“Ties That Bind” is an interesting story of family, respect and love — not to mention, responsibility of work and home. The interaction of the family under the new circumstances is very entertaining. The show deals with the hard feelings that must be resolved and also features the stories of cases that she works as a police detective.

We award this episode of “Ties that Bind” with the Dove Family Approved Seal for all ages.
