Synopsis

One cold Christmas night, an old shepherd recounts the magical story of how he came to be the first visitor to the newborn Christ child — ahead of the other shepherds and in complete secret. “On Angel Wings” is based on the book by Michael Morpurgo.

Dove Review

Rachel and her siblings are going to see their grandfather, who is a shepherd in the field. Along the way, her older siblings pick on her. When she arrives at her grandfather’s house, she learns that her grandfather understands being the youngest of the family, and he tells her the story of what happened to him.

Amos, Rachel’s grandfather, was with his father and brothers, along with other shepherds, on the night that the angel Gabriel came to tell them about the new King’s birth. Left behind to guard the sheep because he was the youngest, Amos gets some help and becomes the first to see the new King.

We are pleased to award “On Angel Wings” the Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages.
