Nine Lives

Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has disconnected him from his family, particularly his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and his adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman). Rebecca’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants. En route to present his daughter with her dream pet, a bizarre turn of events finds Tom trapped inside the body of Mr. Fuzzypants. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom …

Dove Review

“Nine Lives” is a hilarious comedy about a man who is a big mogul in almost everything in his life. He is so busy with his corporations that he does not have time for the real things in life like his family. Tom does not have time to take a call from his second wife, for remembering his young daughter’s birthday or to take a moment to listen to his older son from a previous marriage that works for him.

But when he is on his way home with the only thing his daughter wanted for her birthday, a cat, an unfortunate thing happens. While meeting with a conniving employee, he and the cat fall from a building. Tom wakes to find himself in the body of the cat while his own body lies unconscious in the hospital.

The fun starts as Tom tries to show everyone who he is rather than the cat they call Mr. Fussy Pants. Along the way he learns many things about himself, his family and his company dealings. Will he be able to return to his own body? Only if can find a way to show his love for family otherwise he will remain a cat forever.

We award the Dove Family Approved Seal for 12+ to this funny movie.
