Dove Review

After reading the story of Captain Silver’s adventures to search for treasure, Pororo and his friends decide to hunt for the long-lost treasure themselves. The only problem is, they don’t have a map! The gang ventures to a pirate ship restaurant where they meet some of Captain Silver’s original crew and his enemies. With a little bit of luck and a lot of teamwork, Pororo and his crew defy all odds and make some great new friends along the way.

The Little Penguin Pororo’s Treasure Island Adventure reminds me of an animated, kid-friendly version of National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (sans any inappropriate content). It features pirate ships, a legendary captain, long-lost treasure, collapsing buildings, and other plot points that seem familiar. It’s funny, thoughtful, encouraging, and overall very entertaining for both kids and their families.

The animation is on par with the sound, and there aren’t any glitches or inconsistencies in the actual film itself. As the movie develops, each character seems to grow more into their personality, which really adds some depth to the story. The themes and plot points are consistent throughout the movie, following a linear and uplifting storyline.

The Little Penguin Pororo’s Treasure Island Adventure is a really great example of a movie that is meant for kids but will keep the whole family entertained. It has just enough depth for adults without concepts that would be too deep for children. With innocent humor, familiar concepts, and a well thought out plot, this film will certainly not disappoint.

The Little Penguin Pororo’s Treasure Island Adventure is Dove-approved for All Ages.

The Dove Take:

The Little Penguin Pororo’s Treasure Island Adventure is kid-friendly version of the timeless pirate and treasure hunt story.
