25th Hour

Synopsis
In this gloomy drama directed by Spike Lee, Montgomery Brogan (Edward Norton) is a convicted drug dealer who has 24 hours before he must report for his seven-year prison sentence. During this time, he goes out for one last night on the town with his two childhood friends, Frank (Barry Pepper) and Jakob (Philip Seymour Hoffman). He also attempts to reconnect with his father, doubts whether his Puerto Rican girlfriend Naturelle (Rosario Dawson) is the one who turned him in, and reflects on what lies ahead in prison.
Dove Review
While the film plays tribute to those who lost their lives in the September 11 disaster, “25th Hour” is full of less redeeming qualities: constant barrages of strong language, some violence and a main character with a disrespectful attitude toward many races, professions and Christ.
