Synopsis

A small town girl wins a date with a movie idol. She goes to Hollywood, has the date and returns to the rural south. Tad Hamilton follows her there, because he needs to “find himself and reestablish his roots”. There’s another boy who’s also been in love with the girl, but he’s never spoken about it to her. The star-struck girl has decisions to make, and her good upbringing in rural America are apparent.

Dove Review

My inital thoughts were that this video was cotton candy for the under 20 crowd. There are elements of that, involving two young girls who work as cashiers at Piggy Wiggly Supermarket, in a rural town in the south. When Rosalee wins the contest, and gets a date with movie idol Tad Hamilton, some of the things she says to him show evidence of a lot more than cotton candy in her brain. It’s those qualities that move the movie idol, and he follows her home, falls in love, and plants roots by buying his own farm in the area. Pete’s [Manager of the Piggly Wiggly] known Rosalee all their lives, but he has always been her friend, while pining away in his heart over the unrequited love he feels for her. There are some good scenes that young girls can learn from, particularly when Rosalee expresses her own thoughts to Tad Hamilton. I can recommend this for family viewing, as there are some good scenes where the “pause” button can be hit, and good discussion can follow.
