Hotel Rwanda – Edited
Ten years ago, some of the worst atrocities in the history of mankind took place in the country of Rwanda. Tragically, in an era of high-speed communication and round-the-clock news, the events went almost unnoticed by the rest of the world. In only three months nearly one million people were brutally murdered. In the face of these unspeakable actions, an ordinary man, inspired by his love for his family, summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages.
This was a really amazing movie. All of these terrible things happened right in front of this man’s face and he still had the courage and strength to stand up against the enemy and actually take the wounded, hurt, and weary into his hotel and give them help regardless of what they had done or who they were. This man is an inspiration to us all. They say that some people, when faced with serious hardships, can rise up and get super-human abilities, and that is exactly the case here as this man exhibited super-human courage. There are a few objectionable elements in this movie and one should use caution. The original movie was rated PG-13 for violence, disturbing images, and brief language. The edited version has all the language edited out; however, there are still a few disturbing images, so parents should use caution.
