Love Finds a Home
“Love Finds a Home” is the eighth and final chapter of the “Love Comes Softly” film series inspired by the faith-based novels written by Janette Oke. The story follows the life of Dr. Belinda Owens (Sarah Jones), a young medical doctor confronted by the challenges of laboring in a male-dominated profession while living as a wife and mother in the old American West.
The original series also stars Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite, 7th Heaven) as Dr. Annie Watson, a very pregnant medical doctor who pays a visit to her dear friend and colleague Belinda. Academy Award-winning actress Patty Duke appears as Mary, Annie’s meddlesome mother-in-law whose homeopathic treatments contradict Belinda’s traditional medical training.
The “Love Come Softly” tales now come to an end with the third generation of the Clark family. Missy’s daughter, Belinda, is now married to Lee Owens, the blacksmith in a small town in the west. Their adopted daughter Lillian is growing up and the couple wonders if they are able to have another child.Belinda’s friend Annie, who is expecting, comes to visit and makes Belinda want to have a baby even more. Lee finds himself being an over-protective father when Lillian shows signs of liking the new blacksmith apprentice, Josh. Just as in all the previous stories the importance of family, friends and faith help them all to get through many difficult issues of the old west.
Everyone will enjoy this story as they did the others. We award this movie our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
