Dove Review

In the episode titled “I Can Imagine” Capt’n Chuckleberry and his first mate Kate show how fun it can be to use our imagination. He sings a song called “I’m a cruise ship” as well as a few others and he makes sure the young viewers know how to spell the word “brain”. He makes use of some great animation clips too which feature Tinkle the worm and a live-action sequence with a bird named Roscoe.

In the second episode, titled “Ark” we learn it is not referring to Noah’s ark, but rather to “Acts of Random Kindness”. There are more songs such as “Friends don’t eat friends” and in a great animated segment we see a character who wants to help, of all creatures, a…shark! This episode features jokes, animation, songs, laughter, and some great scriptures which teach us that God loves those who love him and that we should seek God. The program also encourages us to love the unlovable.

In the “ABC 123” episode the emphasis is on words which are formed from the alphabet and a great song is featured, “Hooray for A!” Also, flash cards are used to teach numbers from one to ten. In addition Tinkle the animated worm is featured who tells jokes which will make the kiddies snicker in delight.

In the episode titled “Child’s Play” a great lesson is taught and that is children are known by their actions. This is a fantastic tool to teach children responsibility and the consequences of decisions.

In “Time to tell Time” a catchy song about using the short and long hands on a clock to tell time is utilized as a fun teaching tool. In addition, First Mate Kate teaches kids how to make paper clocks with hands.

Finally, in “Food’s Fun” a nice song about a little acorn is used and throughout every episode in this series there are jokes, animation, and teaching which are all featured as are projects in how to make various fun things relative to the episode.

Captn Chuckleberry is a fun captain to visit and your children will giggle with delight when they watch this DVD, which receives our Dove Seal for all ages. Ahoy!
