Busy realtor Julie Sterling is encouraged by her boss to do some community service and volunteer as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts. Being so focused on her career, Julie couldn’t be more ill-fitted for the job, but her priorities start to change as she forges a friendship with a misfit youth group desperately in need of some self-confidence. Her scouts teach her to enjoy what’s important in life, and Julie instills in the girls a sense of pride, self-esteem and friendship. As a new and improved Julie Sterling emerges, she takes on the challenge to win her troop top honors—a trip to The Rose Bowl parade to ride on the Girl Scout centennial float.

Dove Review

Here is a remarkable and entertaining movie which will inspire many viewers. Julie is a driven real estate agent who is so into her career that it took her a week to realize she hadn’t heard from her former boyfriend who gave up on the relationship. She wants to be number one in sales at her job. Then she is given a ninety day period by her boss to be a troop leader for the Girl Scouts in addition to her job.

Julie is all about being the best and in the beginning she just wants to do a good job and move on although her heart isn’t entirely in it. Then she begins to connect with a few of the Girl Scouts and sees how much they need her as they are looked down on as a lesser troop. Julie’s troop, the Fireflies, begin to sell a lot of Girl Scout cookies and have the chance to be number one. Their competition, the Monarchs, fights tooth and nail out of jealousy. Julie also comes to like the father of young Daisy, one of her scouts.

This movie is really entertaining and funny and delivers a great theme, that one can never go wrong in investing in other people’s lives. We are very happy to award this film our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages and five Doves, our highest rating.
