Away To Me

A feature length documentary following three national sheepdog champions (US, Canada & South Africa) and their amazing canine partners as they compete for the Gold Medal in the world’s foremost sheepdog trial, the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship, held annually outside Park City, Utah. Seemingly simple — but in reality stunningly complex — to see a sheepdog trial is to love it. Filmed in breathtaking high definition (HD) across the United States, Canada and South Africa, the movie captures the beauty, action, drama and spirit of a quirky delightful sport beloved by millions around the world but largely unknown in North America. “Away To Me” is the story of three ordinary people leading extraordinary lives in pursuit of their passions, and showcases the personal values they share which have helped make them champions. At its heart, the movie honors the timeless and universal bond between Man and Dog.

Dove Review

This is an interesting film about Scottish broader collies and the national championships. Most of the sheep herding is done with Scottish broader collies, there is a fact in the beginning of the documentary about the first championships held. It takes you into the lives of the handlers of these amazing dogs and the dogs themselves. From three different parts of the world, these three tell their stories and you watch as they participate in the competition.

The film is filled with wonderful scenery and information about these great working dogs and handlers. “Away To Me” is awarded the Dove Family Approved 12+ Seal only due to some content that may be offensive to some people.
