Synopsis
Straight-laced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman. Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah, his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted — but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having.

“Admission” centers around the college admission procedures at the prestigious Princeton University. This romantic comedy was moving at times and funny at times, but the story was slow most of the time. While Tina Fey and Paul Rudd play their parts extremely well, the film suffers from the tedious setups for all the sub-plots. The issues of raising children as a single parent and the choice of adoption are noble and the film could easily be interpreted as a pro-life movie. However, the language was so over the top which was a serious disappointment. In addition, the reoccurring theme of having sex with someone you just met prevents us from considering this a family film.
